US haddock-to-cod swap begins as further price hikes loom

With the global haddock industry facing the possibility the Barents Sea haddock quota going down 25% next year – a decrease that would bring the harvest level to less than 50% of the level in 2011 – it is clear that today’s short supply is not likely to get better any time soon, leaving buyers stuck with high prices for the foreseeable future. continued@undercurrent
