The New England groundfish debacle (Part III): who or what is at fault? Nils E. Stolpe/FishNet
NILS STOLPE: The New England groundfish debacle (Part IV): Is cutting back harvest really the answer?
While it’s a fact that’s hardly ever acknowledged, the assumption in fisheries management is that if the population of a stock of fish isn’t at some arbitrary level, it’s because of too much fishing. This was a Planet Altering Event I doubt you’ll ever be able to call BP’s DeepWater Spill clean, Exxon’s 1989 Valdez Spill is 25 years old and still far from clean. TheToxins “CRUDE and COREXIT” need to be removed from the bottom and properly disposed of. If you don’t know how figure it out. BP and Dr. Jane Lubchenco should never be let off the Hook. We have plenty extra HOOKS now after Janies other brain Child or should that be Brain of a Child “SECTORS and CATCH SHARES. Maybe you were right Janie Jellyfish I bet”CRUDE and COREXIT” have a similar texture.
