One Response to New England: Groundfish Revenue DOWN 41 percent – Local fishermen critical of NOAA reports on industry

They say there is no cod, but the water gets cold and they over run George’s Bank coming down from Canada in water temperatures that reflect an ice level that hasn’t been seen in 20 years but used to be normal.
NOAA does not have any science available for migrating fish due to cyclical and global temperature trends. If the fish go to Canada when the Bigelow surveys….a disaster has struck and the place is over-fished. If the fish come back across a line that the fish have no idea exists (Maybe we need a fence) the NOAA says, “Look we rebuilt the stock of fish!!”
Sorry Mr. Wizard a peek behind your curtain shows piss poor data collection and a management tool box that only has one tool. Kill fishing jobs.
