Bore Head….it is actually Suffolk County being the most eastern half of Long Island in New York State….a coastal state which has had its commercial fishing community bashed time and again over the past two decades, and the powers to be at the NYS DEC at the time, not protecting the fishermen and fishing industry in the once Empire State. Now there are few noticeable commercial fishing operations left west of Suffolk County, with Jones Beach Packing and a few small clam boat and small commercial fishing operations in Freeport, being the last remaining remnants in the west on Long Island, and here in NYC we have lost our big dragging fleet which consisted most notably of thee big steel Hunter vessels, to the smaller wooden Tami-Gale and Alhfield. Even though legal actions such as this should be applauded, in reality it is going to much more then this to aid fishermen and fishing businesses here in NYS.
