The definitive words on mercury in fish (or, if it seems like the public is dumbing down…

that’s perhaps because it is).  I highly recommend that you invest 28 minutes in watching Fish, mercury & nutrition: the net effects. You can get to it at http://www.undeerc.org/fish/documentary.aspx.    It was done by the Energy and Environmental Research Center at the University of North Dakota with NMFS funding and put’s the mercury/omega 3 “controversy” into the proper – and understandable – national and international context.
And pass the link around. Anyone with an interest in public health in the U.S., in the mental acuity of the next generation, and in the  damage that radical environmentalists are inflicting on our society owes it to themselves to watch it.

    I hope that everyone will watch this video in its entirety, & then passes it on. This video about mercury effects will have the ENGOs turning over in their crypts at night, as it dispels most all of the harmful misinformation that they have be disseminating to consumers, expectant mothers, new mothers & their children specifically. They didn’t just harm the fishing industry with their watch-lists & dire warnings, they may have gone much further by impacting a helpless & innocent audience.

    Whether knowingly or ignorantly, the harm has been done. It will be interesting to see if NOAA/NMFS separates themselves from the ENGOs’ mercury campaign, after all they provided some of the funding in getting this video & report published.

    It might be helpful to point out to anyone who cares about such things, that as fishermen are often told; “there might be a reason, but that’s no excuse”! It will also be interesting on what kind of spin they might try to put on this report.
