The New England groundfish debacle (Part III): who or what is at fault? Nils E. Stolpe/FishNet
NILS STOLPE: The New England groundfish debacle (Part IV): Is cutting back harvest really the answer?

It’s all about fishing, because fishing is all that the managers can control; it’s their Maslow’s Hammer. When it comes to the oceans it seems as if it’s about all that the industry connected mega-foundations that support the anti-fishing ENGOs with hundreds of millions of dollars a year in “donations” are interested in controlling. I consider it an honor to have known Harriet. She was a no nonsense lady who knew the real score involving all fisheries matters. It was never about what’s in Harriet’s best interest, it was about what’s best for the fishing community. Sadly this is a trait that seems to be getting lost with many of the so called leaders of the fishing community these days. Thank you Harriet for all you did on behalf of others. RIP
