Serving up Asian Carp

It’s survival of the fittest for fish in the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers. Asian Carp, a non-native fish, are rapidly multiplying and threatening other species of fish. Now Shafer fisheries in Thomson, Illinois is harvesting them. They’re catching an average of 80,000 lbs. of asian carp a week, and they’re cashing in on this fish with a bad rep. “We’re pretty much the only ones left,” said Owner Michael Shafer.
