On April 9, 1865, General Robert E. Lee surrendered to General Ulysses S. Grant at the Appomattox Court House in Virginia, signifying the end of the U.S. Civil War. One hundred and fifty-three years to the day, north and south are set to do battle yet again, this time over sea bass. Getting federal aid for Maine shrimpers

maine shrimpIt’s too soon to say if any aid will be given to the shrimpers, although according to a representative from the Maine Department of Marine Resources, Maine’s congressional delegation has reached out to see if there is anything that can be done to help the fishermen.
