Bill Jenkins was a man of great energy, passion and commitment, according to those who knew and worked with him. And the 53-year-old husband and father of two grown sons did a lot: Virginia Beach police officer, charter boat captain and owner of a seafood market and commissary kitchen were among the jobs he held. Jenkins died Thursday trying to help a sea turtle in distress. Seven fishermen who were lost at sea for more than a week were reunited with families in Whitehouse, Westmoreland, yesterday after being saved by a seaman who refused to give up on his rescue mission.
