According to a spokesperson for the FWC, the lead agency in the search, FWC and Clay County personnel recovered the body and took it to the Mulberry Cove Boat Ramp at Naval Air Station Jacksonville. Authorities have not yet said if the body found in the river Thursday is 20-year-old Michael Vaughn III, of St. Augustine, who disappeared on the river last week. Crab boat gets stuck near Buckman Bridge Thursday, 19-year-old fisherman still missing
The U.S. Coast Guard is now the lead agency in the search for a missing teenage boater fisherman who disappeared after falling overboard from a 30-foot commercial fishing vessel near the Buckman Bridge Thursday morning. Crab-fishing boat runs aground on Rose Spit
A crab-fishing boat ran hard aground on Rose Spit this morning (8/31). All four people on board the boat, the Prince Rupert-based Carmanah Light, managed to get to the beach safely wearing survival suits. No injuries have been reported. Search-and rescue volunteers with Archipelago SAR drove to Rose Spit and picked up the stranded crew. Masset Marine Rescue, BC Parks, DFO, Haida Fisheries and the Canadian Coast Guard are also responding on land and water. Crab Boat washes up onto beach at Port San Luis
A boat broke free of its mooring and washed up onto a beach at Port San Luis on Sunday morning. The co-owner of the boat launch facility tells KSBY the 35-foot crab boat crashed into the rocks before coming to rest on the beach. It reportedly belongs to Port San Luis Harbor Commissioner Bill Barrow who is also a commercial fisherman.
