Boothbay Harbor lobster boat sinks, raised with lots of help

In the early morning hours of Thanksgiving Day, Andy Page’s boat, F/V Sea Star sank at the Boothbay Harbor town dock. Efforts to raise the boat were not able to happen until Friday morning. Bruce White of Sea Tow along with many fellow fishermen worked through the morning placing airbags and eventually pumps to re-float the vessel. The first attempt was unsuccessful as an airbag failed. Thank You, Frank! Lobsterman donates buckets of lobsters to Maine veterans

We introduced you to Frank Thompson last week. He pledged to give away around 50 buckets of lobster to local veterans who entered in a drawing. Thompson more than made good on his promise, giving away 80 buckets filled with roughly 15 lobsters each. Set up outside the Furniture Gallery in Bangor, Thompson sent dozens of veterans home with a feast to savor and share. Maine lobsterman giving away buckets of lobsters to some lucky veterans

A lobsterman in Harrington who gave away some of his catch to a few lucky veterans last year is at it, again. Dozens of others have chipped in buckets, too, ahead of the Veterans Day holiday. “I wanted to give back a little bit. Maine: Lobster boat sinks after hitting a ledge in Naskeag Harbor, Captain taken to hospital

A 36-foot lobster boat, Turn the Page, sank off Naskeag Point on the sunny, breezy afternoon of August 26, according to a Department of Marine Resources statement. The vessel, captained by 45-year-old Carl Gray of Sedgwick, hit a ledge in Naskeag Harbor, according to the statement. The boat continued on until it eventually ran aground near the boat launch around 1:30 p.m., DMR said.
