Nova Scotia Lobster fisherman airlifted to hospital after falling overboard

A 32-year-old man was airlifted to hospital Saturday after he fell overboard a lobster boat off Lockeport, N.S. The man had been hit in the chest with a lobster trap before he fell over, according to a report from Joint Task Force Atlantic. The crew was able to rescue him quickly, but the man had hypothermia. A Cormorant helicopter was dispatched from CFB Greenwood to pick up the fisherman. From there, he was taken to Yarmouth for medical care, said Lt.-Navy Sean Ritchie with Joint Task Force Atlantic. The Chasin Crustacean was about 87 kilometres off Lockeport when the incident occurred. The man’s condition isn’t known. Link 18:32

Video: Fisherman airlifted by Coast Guard to South Jersey hospital

486x274_q75 lindaA fisherman aboard a scallop boat off the South Jersey coast had to be airlifted when he needed medical attention on Sunday afternoon. The man on board the 90-foot fishing vessel Linda based in New Bedford, Mass. radioed into the Coast Guard seeking help for an unspecified medical issue for a 63-year-old man. according to the Coast Guard. Despite the rain a crew from the Coast Guard’s Atlantic City station hoisted the man off the boat 60 miles southeast of Atlantic City and took him to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus in Galloway. Fisherman airlifted safely from F/V Newfoundland Pioneer after suspected heart attack

CBC_News_logoCBCNews – A fisherman had to be airlifted to hospital in St. Anthony on Monday amid a medical emergency. A search and rescue official said a Cormorant helicopter from Gander performed the medevac shortly after 3 p.m. The 46-year-old patient was aboard the vessel Newfoundland Pioneer, about 100 kilometres north of St. Anthony. It’s believed the man suffered a heart attack while fishing in the area. The official called it a successful mission, but there was no word on the patient’s condition.
