U.S. Coast Guard performs medevac recuse off coast of Nantucket for injured crew member

The U.S. Coast Guard performed a medevac recuse off the coast of Nantucket for an injured crew member on Thursday.  According to the Coast Guard, the fishing vessel F/V Rachel Leah was 150 nautical miles off Nantucket when a crewman sustained facial injuries. Video: Coast Guard medevacs shark attack victim with partially amputated leg, overboard from commercial fishing vessel

The Coast Guard medevaced an injured crew member from a fishing vessel after a shark attack approximately 35 miles southeast of Grand Isle, Louisiana, Friday. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a call at 12:51 a.m. via VHF-FM channel 16 from personnel aboard the fishing vessel F/V Moon Glow stating a 64-year-old male crew member had been attacked by a shark and sustained a severe leg injury. The man had reportedly been untangling fishing nets from the vessel’s propeller when he fell overboard and was bitten by a shark of an unknown size and species. Crewman from disabled fishing boat taken to hospital with minor injuries, another went on his own.

A Station Gloucester 47-foot Coast Guard lifeboat escorted the F/V Angela Michelle into Gloucester Harbor on Monday morning after the fishing vessel experienced a disabling mechanical problem at sea. Gloucester Police Chief Edward Conley said one crew member was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital for an “unspecified illness.” Conley said another crew member suffered a minor injury, but was able to help secure the vessel at the pier before going to the hospital on his own. photo’s, >click to read< 14:05
