NOAA opens public comment period – National Marine Sanctuaries and Marine National Monuments
NOAA opens public comment period on Sec. 4(b) in Executive Order 13795 focused on National Marine Sanctuaries and Marine National Monuments NOAA is soliciting comment on National Marine Sanctuaries and Marine National Monuments designated or expanded since April 28, 2007, during a 30-day public comment period, which will open June 26, 2017, to assist the Secretary of Commerce in his review under section 4(b) of the Presidential Executive Order (EO) 13795, “Implementing an America-First Offshore Energy Strategy” (signed April 28, 2017). There are a total of six National Marine Sanctuaries expanded and five Marine National Monuments designated or expanded since April 28, 2007, that are a part of this review (see table 1). Public Comment Period Reopened for Acadian Redfish Action — DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS IS 1/22/13
NOAA Fisheries today announced that it has reopened the public comment period for an Acadian redfish-related proposed rule that published on November 8, 2012. Deadline for submitting public comments is January 22, 2013.
Public comment period ends July 1 for seismic survey permits off SC coast
The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is currently accepting public comments regarding a new application for seismic testing off the South Carolina coast from WesternGeco LLC. Jeffrey Payne, Director for NOAA’s Office for Coastal Management, said seismic surveys “would have reasonably foreseeable effects on coastal uses or resources of South Carolina’s coastal zone.” In addition to potential reductions in commercial fishing catches there is also the potential for conflicts with other vessels. >click to read<21:10
