Scallop washer.
The round drum rotates as seawater is sprayed onto the shucked scallops, and an auger flight positioned inside indexes the scallops toward the blue plastic receiver bin to be bagged in 50 lb. cloth bags.

Deck gear hoisting control station. Everything is controlled from right here. Excellent visibility, and a good clean layout. some slob left a water bottle .(that’d be me) to ruin the shot. Besides the bottle and hard hat, there is a scallop bag tying tool, like for tying rebar, and an EPIRB.

The car on the wharf is a good indicator of the size of the work deck. She’s big. Real big!

From the port side, looking across the wheelhouse, a variety of objects cath your eyes, but the beef is in the electronics, and ish2 has the best.3D displays totally impressed me! Hell, when I went we still used sounding weights!

A plot of a research trip that Endurance was chartered for. The course is plotted from start to finish, including two trips through the Cape Cod Canal.
The position of the boat is the red icon, lower left on the screen.

Looking forward from the work deck. Under the weather deck is where the men shuck the scallops, In the center is the washer and plastic hoppers. Everyone shucks, including the skipper. There is an elevator ro hoist them to pilot house level. That was a big surprise!

Went on a road trip to New Bedford Ma, to visit and meet newsviner ish2dant, the proud owner operator of this Big New Bedford fishing vessel. They do two different fisheries with Endurance, ground fishing, and scalloping.
At the present time she’s hunting scallops, and she’s a real production machine!
The crew is top notch and they recently set a record. (see attached article)
I’m proud to know him, and it was like seeing a long lost brother. I’m going to email this to him, and although they are getting ready to leave in the next day or two, feel free to ask questions, and if I can;t answer them, I’m sure is will.
I took a lot of shots, but no where near enough! This boat is super clean, and meticulously maintained.
She is his love boat. Mine too!
