Video: Fishing Boat Hits Rocks In Manasquan Inlet And Sinks
Around 10:40 p.m. last night, a fishing vessel reported that they were taking on water to the USCG Manasquan Inlet station. Initial reports said they had struck inlet rocks and had a hole in the vessel. Witnesses at the Manasquan Inlet (Point Pleasant Side) said that they saw a boat attempt to leave the inlet but struck the rocks and heard a bang then saw the craft turn around at a decent speed and go back into the inlet. >click to read<, and >click here< 19:27
A Commercial Fishing Vessel Sinks – Coast Guard responds to diesel fuel discharge near Sitka, Alaska
The Coast Guard is responding to a report of a diesel fuel discharge, Tuesday, after a vessel sank near Sitka, Alaska. Sector Juneau personnel received a report, February 27, 2021 at 2 p.m., that the 52-foot fishing vessel, Haida Lady, sank and was completely submerged between Cobb Island and Silver Point South of Sitka, Alaska. High-dollar sports fishing boat crashes into shrimp boat, sinks
A sports fishing boat worth more than $1 million crashed this weekend into a shrimping boat before sinking during a fishing tournament about 45 miles offshore from Port O’Connor. The crash of the 61-foot sports fishing boat, named Got ‘M On, was reported to the Coast Guard at 4:10 p.m. Saturday, assistant public affairs officer Kenneth Hawkins said Sunday. The Got ‘M On collided with a 79-foot shrimping boat named Lady Toni, the Coast Guard reported.,,, No one on the shrimping boat was in the water. No one was arrested or cited after the crash. The abandoned Irish Piper did not go quietly. But go it did!
The 41-foot wooden boat, one of the more infamous vessels in Gloucester because of its previous owners’ penchant for abandoning it at various boat yards and dockages, had its own Irish wake Monday when the city cut up the boat at Rose Marine and disposed of it. The city had recovered the boat Saturday from about 37 feet of water in the southeast harbor where it sank Thursday. The Piper, however, did not give up all its secrets as it went to its final demise — most significantly, who legally owned the boat and abandoned it on the Gloucester Harbor mooring for nearly a month this summer.”That’s a little murky,” said Gloucester Harbormaster T.J. Ciarametaro on Monday afternoon.” All we know is some guy bought it at auction, but we haven’t been able to track down exactly who. Docked fishing vessel Sylvia Lyn II catches fire, sinks in Cook’s Harbour
RCMP in St. Anthony responded to a call around 7 p.m. Friday that a fishing vessel had caught fire at the Cook’s Harbour wharf on the Northern Peninsula. The Cook’s Harbour fire department and St. Anthony fire department were both on the scene when police arrived. Police say the nearly 20-metre fishing vessel, named the Sylvia Lyn II, caught fire around 5:30 p.m. while docked at the wharf. Fishing Vessel Sinks, Spills Oil in Alaska
A 58-foot fishing vessel ran aground, sunk and spilled oil in Sitka, Alaska, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. No injuries have been reported, and there have been no confirmed reports of impacts to wildlife. The fishing vessel Pacific Venture, a 58-foot seiner, ran aground Tuesday evening and subsequently rolled over around 2 a.m. Wednesday, sinking in approximately 25 feet of water in vicinity of The Twins, roughly half a mile off the mouth of the Indian River in Sitka. Newport Based F/V Corsair sinks 27 miles west of Westport, WA
One of the crewmen aboard the 50 foot F/V Corsair called NewsLincolnCounty.com and gave us the blow by blow of what happened to them off Westport yesterday. CF/V Poseidon Princess sinks, four rescued off southwest Nova Scotia
The crew of the Poseidon Princess called for help in the early morning hours, saying their boat was in danger of capsizing off the coast of West Pubnico. Morgan D’Entremont says his father Martin and the other two crew members, Lee and Oscar D’Entremont, who are Martin’s brothers, were injured. “They’re a little banged up,” Morgan D’Entremont said. The three crew members were able to get in a life raft, but the fourth person, a Fisheries Department observer who was taking samples on the Poseidon Princess, was not able to climb aboard. F/V Demi Lynn, sinks at her Warren Town Wharf berth
The 40-odd foot fishing boat, owned by Bristol resident Manuel “Butch” Perreira, sank at its Warren Town Wharf berth some time overnight Saturday into Sunday, coming to rest on its port side. “Nothing sadder than seeing a man’s boat on the bottom,” said one fellow fisherman who was watching crews go about their work. Coast Guard rescues fisherman after vessel sinks near Newport, Ore.
The master of the 28-foot fishing vessel Rip Rider contacted Coast Guard Sector North Bend, Oregon, at 8:20 a.m., via VHF-FM radio reporting that he was taking on water and had donned survival equipment, and at 8:33 a.m., the man’s 406 mhz emergency position indicating radio beacon activated, broadcasting his exact location.
