A fisherman has died in the hospital after he was rescued from a sinking fishing boat

Emergency crews raced to Luce Bay near to Port William, Newton Stewart, yesterday afternoon. Officers also scrambled to the area after the alarm was raised at around 4.30pm. The man was rushed to Galloway Community Hospital in an ambulance. But police confirmed that he tragically passed away this morning. Coast Guard assists sinking fishing boat off Key West

Coast Guard rescue crews assisted a 73-foot commercial fishing boat after it started taking on water about 46 miles northwest of Key West. The F/V Kayden Nicole’s emergency positioning indicating radio beacon alerted Coast Guard watchstanders that the three person crew was in distress. Coast Guard assists sinking fishing boat 50 miles east of Cape May, NJ

The Coast Guard assisted three mariners after their ship began taking on water more than 50 miles off Cape May, New Jersey, Monday. Fifth District command center watchstanders in Portsmouth, Virginia, received an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon alert from the 77-foot fishing trawler Capt Garland, but were unable to make contact with the crew after hailing them on VHF radio channel 16, Monday. >click to read<

Sinking fishing boat salvaged at Ventura Harbor

Crews salvaged a commercial fishing boat that was sinking at Ventura Harbor early Saturday. The Ventura Harbor Patrol was notified at 2:10 a.m. about a boat that had started sinking in its slip at the Ventura Harbor Village Marina, 1583 Spinnaker Drive. Patrol officers responded and requested assistance from the city of Ventura Fire Department, the Coast Guard and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. An oil containment boom was deployed around the vessel to minimize the spread of its 1,300 gallons of diesel fuel. >click to read<19:46

5 rescued from sinking fishing boat off the coast of Yarmouth

canadian coast guardA Coast Guard ship rescued five people from a fishing boat early Sunday morning after they reported the vessel was sinking 16 nautical miles, or about 30 kilometres, off the coast of Yarmouth, N.S.  A spokesman for Joint Task Force Atlantic says the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax received a mayday distress call from the  around 11:30 Saturday night. Cpt. Cameron Hillier says JRCC Halifax dispatched a Cormorant helicopter and a Hercules aircraft from 14-wing Greenwood to help with the rescue efforts. UPDATED – Five rescued from sinking fishing boat off Cape Sable Island

Five people were rescued from a sinking fishing vessel off Clark’s Harbour on Thursday evening. The canadian coast guardreceived a call at about 7:30 p.m. that the vessel was taking on water. The five people managed to get aboard a second fishing vessel, which took them to shore at nearby West Head on Cape Sable Island. A coast guard vessel escorted the second fishing vessel to shore. “Everybody’s safe on shore now,” said coast guard spokesman Steve Bornais.  Read the article here 11:46

Coast Guard responds to sinking fishing boat east of Manasquan Inlet, NJ

USCG The Coast Guard is responding to a fishing boat that is taking on water Sunday 20 miles east of Manasquan Inlet, New Jersey. Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay watchstanders received a report from a good Samaritan aboard the fishing boat F/V Nemesis at 12:20 p.m. that the fishing boat F/V Navigator was taking on water.
