Allowing Outside Buyers in Fishery Won’t Fix Issues in Processing Sector, Says Advocate

A longtime advocate for the inshore fishery says measures taken by the provincial government won’t do anything to break what he calls the “cartel” running the local processing sector. Harvesters are vowing to return to Confederation Building on Monday to rally for changes that will give them a greater share of the price fetched by crab and other species.
