While it’s a fact that’s hardly ever acknowledged, the assumption in fisheries management is that if the population of a stock of fish isn’t at some arbitrary level, it’s because of too much fishing. Hence the term “overfished.” Hence the mandated knee jerk reaction of the fisheries managers to not enough fish; cut back on fishing. What of other factors? They don’t count. It’s all about fishing, because fishing is all that the managers can control; it’s their Maslow’s Hammer. When it comes to the oceans it seems as if it’s about all that the industry connected mega-foundations that support the anti-fishing ENGOs with hundreds of millions of dollars a year in “donations” are interested in controlling. The “LURE” of easy “MONEY”… Non-Profits, you could call them “THE NEW COTTAGE INDUSTRY”… Paint it “GREEN” and they will “DONATE”, i.e. the ” 1%’s Philanthropic Family Charity TAX SHELTERS” and “GOVERNMENT SET ASIDES” the “ACADEMIC ATM’s of the NATION”… ALL BLOATED w/ $$$$$$’s, find a cause write a PROPOSAL and hold out your “HANDS” or give them your ACCOUNT NUMBER for “DIRECT DEPOSIT”… Make sure you use the right “BUZZ WORDS” and you’re in… Now a Days the “RESEARCH PAPERS could be printed on the same Paper the Currency is given the “STATE of the ECONOMY”… Money that could be feeding and housing the “NEEDY of the NATION”, “FUNDING MEDICAL INSURANCE for the SAME”, “FUNDING MEDICAL RESEARCH” or “TRAINING for those collecting ENTITLEMENTS enabling them to FEND for THEMSELVES”…
The Libraries are full of useless Papers. It’s time to utilize “IDLE EXPERTS’ like “FISHERMEN” to actually do some “HANDS ON” research with “REAL TIME, REAL WORLD “RESULTS””… CHARMIN, COTTONELLE,and SUCH, provide far more useful PAPER..
AMERICA needs to WAKE-UP and realize that they have been robbed of “THEIR COMMON PROPERTY” via “EXECUTIVE DECISION”… CONGRESS needs to address “T.O.O.P.” and undo the DAMAGE that has been caused by “ONE MAN”S DECISION”…
