They’re off! Lobster season gets underway in southwestern Nova Scotia
The lobster season in lobster fishing area (LFA) 34 – which takes in all of Yarmouth County and parts of Shelburne and Digby counties and LFA 33, which takes in the rest of the South Shore, kicked off early Monday morning. All indications are that the season will be an excellent one, say industry representatives and are hoping strong prices and good catches. There are around 980 licence holders in LFA 34.
