Humboldt Fisherman’s Wives Holding Burn Recovery Fundraiser for Captain and Two Crews Members of Mariah K
The Humboldt fisherman’s wives has generously offered to put on a Burn recovery fundraiser for my nephew and his 2 crew members that sustained severe burns while commercial fishing off of Oregon Coast a month ago when the boat engine exploded. The 2 crew were released from the hospital a couple weeks ago and are now recovering at home. Three Rescued From Burning Vessel Off Brookings Tuesday Evening; GoFundMe Set Up For Survivor
Three people are in a San Francisco-area hospital after their fishing vessel caught on fire about 50 nautical miles off the coast of Brookings on Tuesday. According to Petty Officer Briana Carter, a public affairs officer for the U.S. Coast Guard 13th District, a good Samaritan got the three survivors out of the water and transferred them to a Coast Guard vessel, which brought them to shore for care. According to a GoFundMe page set up on behalf of Emanuel Silveira, the Mariah K is “gone due to the engine exploding.” The campaign was created by Jaimie Ouellette, who said Silveira is his/her son-in-law. Fishing vessel catches fire off the coast of Oregon
U.S Coast Guard crews responded to a fire on a 42-foot commercial fishing vessel off the coast of Manzanita Beach in Oregon early Saturday morning. USCG said they received a distress call at around 6:30 a.m., about 2 miles west of Manzanita Beach. The Coast Guard has suspended the search Friday for a man reported missing after an overturned 32-foot fishing vessel was discovered near Cape May on Thursday. Coast Guard crews searched more than 30 hours and over 700 square miles for the missing man. An inquiry into the name identifying the vessel was made, and is F/V Conch RD. Watchstanders from Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay Command Center received an alert from an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon at approximately 2 p.m. Shortly afterward, a good Samaritan reported a capsized vessel in the area of the alert. The Coast Guard and a good Samaritan rescued two fishermen, Monday, who were presumed lost at sea, 23 miles northeast of Cat Island, Bahamas. Rescued were Domingo Jimenez, 45, and Ramon Castillo, 29, both from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Sitka delivered a dewatering pump to the fishing vessel Tamarack, which was taking on water approximately 35 miles west of Sitka Saturday. The crew of Tamarack utilized the dewatering pump to prevent additional flooding. At 5:56 a.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg received a Mayday via VHF-FM radio channel 16 from a man stating, “Mayday, Mayday – this is the vessel…” but the transmission was lost. Two additional calls from the same man were received but no usable information could be heard. Good Samaritan, Coast Guard rescue 2 fishermen near Pembroke, Maine
The crew of the fishing boat Alex Shea rescued two fishermen Tuesday afternoon after the fishing boat Born Again began sinking on Cobscook Bay near Pembroke, Maine. At around 11:54 a.m. the captain of Alex Shea issued a distress call after witnessing the Born Again sinking. A Coast Guard 45-foot rescue boat crew launched from Station Eastport to assist. The crew of the Alex Shea pulled the two scallop fishermen from the water and transferred them to the Station Eastport rescue boat. The Coast Guard crew brought the two fishermen to Eastport at around 12:33 p.m. where EMS was waiting. The fishermen were reported to be hypothermic but responsive. –USCG– 17:43

Coast Guard Cutter Albacore assists disabled fishing vessel off Monomoy
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England notified the 1st Coast Guard District Command Center late Thursday afternoon stating a 41-foot commercial fishing vessel, Angel Fish, was disabled with three people aboard. Angel Fish was reported to be disabled due to a main diesel engine failure. Unable to hail any vessels in the area to assist, the Coast Guard Cutter Albacore was diverted from patrol to help. Good Samaritan, Coast Guard rescue overboard fisherman from F/V Andy & Johnny Jr near Grand Isle
GRAND ISLE, La. — A good Samaritan and a Coast Guard boatcrew rescued a fisherman from the water 19 miles offshore Grand Isle, Friday. Watchstanders at the 8th Coast Guard District command center received a 406 emergency position indicating radio beacon for the shrimping vessel . The Cajun Fisher was first of several good Samaritans to arrive on scene and reported that a crewmember from the fishing vessel Andy & Johnny Jr. had fallen overboard without a lifejacket.
