Criminal investigation ordered into sinking of Nancy Glen
A criminal investigation is being held into the sinking of a fishing boat in which two men died. The Nancy Glen went down in Loch Fyne, near Tarbert, on January 18. Duncan MacDougall, 46, and Przemek Krawczyk, 38, who lived in the village, were on board when the trawler sank. It was confirmed yesterday that police have been asked to investigate. Search for missing fishermen over as Nancy Glen is recovered
An operation which took all night to complete saw the boat being lifted from the seabed just after 7.30am. Skipper Duncan MacDougall, 46, and crewman Przemek Krawczyk, 38, were still aboard the prawn trawler when it sank on January 18. Tarbert fishermen Duncan MacDougall, 46, and Przemek Krawczyk, 38, lost their lives when the boat sank in Loch Fyne on January 18. Their bodies are still believed to be inside the boat. A third crewman, John Miller, 34, also from Tarbert, survived after being rescued by a passing vessel. Seabed search in Loch Fyne for lost fishermen
Fresh efforts have been made to locate the bodies of two fishermen lost in a sinking on Loch Fyne. Their vessel, the Nancy Glen, sank on 18 January. One member of the crew was rescued by a passing boat but Przemek Krawczyk and Duncan MacDougall, who both lived in Tarbert, were lost. The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) were surveying the site to decide if the wreck can be raised. A candle was lit for the lost men at a ceremony in Tarbert on Saturday. Marine investigators do not plan to raise the wreck of a ship which sunk in Loch Fyne, with two men thought to be on-board. The search for Duncan MacDougall, 46, and Przemek Krawczykis in the Argyll waters is now a recovery operation despite a heroic attempt to save them. Loch Fyne search for missing fishermen scaled back
A major search for two fishermen missing after their boat capsized in Loch Fyne in Argyll and Bute has been scaled back. The alarm was raised by a third man who was pulled from the water by the crew of a passing boat on Thursday evening. Despite efforts of those on scene to keep it afloat, the 40ft Nancy Glenn TT100 fishing vessel sank. Lifeboats, a coastguard helicopter and rescue teams, as well as local boats, have been searching for the men.
