“Suspending a search for a missing person is one of the most difficult decisions we have to make,” said Capt. Gregory Sanial, chief of response for the Coast Guard 17th District. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time.”

The crew member’s name is not being released, pending next-of-kin notifications.

The owner say the waters were calm at the time, so no one is sure how or why the boat sank.

    Very sad.
