Mississippi River freshwater and sediment diversions criticized by George Barisich, president of the United Commercial Fishermen
“If sediment diversions come through as designed, I won’t be here,” Barisich said about the fishing industry. He asked the advisory commission to take another look at sediment diversions and how they compare with the effectiveness of dredging and placing sediment to build land instead.
