There is some good news for fans of Deadliest Catch as a beloved star of the show gave a positive health update. Captain ‘Wild’ Bill Wichrowski shared with fans the latest news following his prostate cancer diagnosis. In a recent Facebook update, Wichrowski said that he is receiving radioactive seeds and hormone treatments. “Numbers are great. Not complaining purely for information,” he wrote. Although reality TV star shared that the hormone treatment is necessary for him, he told his followers that it comes with issues. “Testosterone drops to near zero by design. ‘Deadliest Catch’ Star ‘Wild’ Bill Wichrowski Was Initially ‘Skeptical’ of the Show
The popular show reels viewers in with its unvarnished look at the rough-and-tumble world of commercial fishing. But not everyone who participates in the show was initially sold on the idea. Captain ‘Wild’ Bill Wichrowski has said that when he first heard about the series, he wasn’t eager to sign on. These days Wichrowski is a fixture on Deadliest Catch. But he actually wasn’t part of the show’s initial cast. He joined the series in season 6, which aired in 2010. The Great Recession had just happened, and the economic downturn prompted him to say yes to filming. Wichrowski, however, was a holdout. The idea of being on TV “just didn’t hold interest,” he said. Crab fisherman Nick McGlashan died last December of a drug overdose at just 33 years old. Former Deadliest Catch fisherman Jerod Sechrist Arrested, faces heroin possession charge. A Skipper says finding good crew is challenging.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office inmate database, Sechrist, 33, was arrested on Oct. 5 by the Tampa Police Department in Tampa, Florida.
