Coast Guard assists fishing vessel taking on water near Oregon Inlet

Members of the Coast Guard helped a boat called the Captain Potter that was taking on water around 4 p.m. on Sunday. The Captain Potter was around seven miles away from the Oregon Inlet Sea Bouy when the Coast Guard responded with the Cutter Dolphin and used two dewatering pumps to help stabilize the boat. The Coast Guard towed the Captain Potter to safe harbor and all personel and equipment were transported safely as well. >link<15:00

Coast Guard assists disabled grounded fishing vessel in Prince William Sound

USCGCrews from the Coast Guard Cutter Mustang and a Station Valdez 45-foot Response Boat-Medium assisted the crew of a fishing vessel that ran aground Thursday morning on the south side of Evans Island in Prince William Sound. Coast Guard assists flooding F/V Blue Ocean near Cape Ann, Massachusetts

At about 1 p.m., watchstanders at the Sector Boston Command Center received a distress call from the vessel Blue Ocean via VHF Channel 16 saying they were taking on water and unable to control the flooding with their pump. <Read more here> 18:09

F/V Caitlin & Mairead safe after taking on water, Coast Guard assists, towing to Montauk

Caitlin +MaireadOn Wednesday night, the Coast Guard is towing a commercial fishing vessel back to Montauk that was taking on water about 30 miles south of Montauk Point. Petty Officer Alissa Flockerzi said the crew aboard Caitlin & Mairead reported the 65-foot boat was taking on water at about 2:25 p.m. At the time, the four-person crew had engaged pumps, which were keeping up with the water.
