Video: U.S. Coast Guard, Air Force, and Navy medevac fisherman from commercial fishing vessel off Hawaii

The Coast Guard, Air Force, and Navy successfully medevaced a 73-year-old fisherman from the 84-foot commercial fishing vessel Lady Alice 150 miles east of Hilo, Friday. At 7:37 a.m., Monday, the owner of the Lady Alice notified JRCC watchstanders that the master of the vessel appeared to be suffering symptoms of a stroke. The mariners aboard provided medication to the patient and were instructed by JRCC watchstanders to monitor his condition and maintain scheduled communication. Duty flight surgeons from the Coast Guard and Air Force were consulted and recommended sending Air Force pararescue jumpers from the 129th Rescue Wing to the vessel before the mariner’s condition deteriorated. Coast Guard medevacs fisherman 60 miles east of Atlantic City, NJ

f v jeffery scottThe Coast Guard medevaced a man Wednesday from a fishing vessel approximately 60 miles east of Atlantic City, New Jersey. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia received notification at about 5:20 p.m. from the crew aboard the fishing vessel Jeffrey Scott that a 57-year-old man was experiencing abdominal pain. Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City launched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew to assist. The man was hoisted at approximately 6:45 p.m. and transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City at 7:30 p.m. where he received further medical attention. “This was a challenging hoist due to the amount of rigging on the boat, but when we got on scene the crew was prepared and extremely helpful,” said Lt. Kyle Burke, a pilot on the case. “They maintained great communications with us through their VHF radio and everything went very smoothly. I’m so glad we were able to help this man get to the medical attention he needed.” Watch video, click here  18:13

Coast Guard medevacs fisherman Saturday near Hatteras Inlet

USCGThe Coast Guard medevaced an injured man Saturday from a fishing boat near Hatteras Inlet.  received a request from the 78-foot fishing boat Daniel Joseph at 10:27 a.m. Saturday to transport a 58-year-old fisherman to shore for medical treatment after he sustained injuries to his fingers while shrimping. 55-year-old Fisherman medevaced from F/V John S. Dempster in Southern Chesapeake Bay

USCG-Birthday-300x174The Coast Guard medevaced a 55-year-old man Monday from a fishing boat in southern Chesapeake Bay. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads received a call from the operator of the fishing boat John S. Dempster at approximately 4:15 p.m., stating a crewman had suffered a seizure in the vicinity of Fisherman Island. <Read more here> 19:53

F/V Alaska Juris Fisherman Medevaced near Cold Bay, Alaska

The Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk crew rendezvoused with the Alaska Juris approximately 110 miles north of Cold Bay, safely hoisted the man aboard the helicopter and transported him to awaiting emergency medical services in Cold Bay for further care. more@uscgnews 10:57
