Before there was Global Warming, Sixty years ago, two hurricanes a week apart did double damage on Cape Cod
Hurricane Carol on Aug. 31, 1954, and Edna less than two weeks later on Sept. 11, struck during what local researchers call the “golden age” of hurricanes from 1935 to 1960, years that saw other Category 3 storms such as the infamous Hurricane of ’38, the 1944 Hurricane and Hurricane Donna in 1960.
