Environmentalism is Dead?

I would look at this as pure (better make that IMPURE!) rabble-rousing alarmism except for one thing. Go to http://www.fishtruth.net, a website that I created and put up way back when. I told the same shameful story decades ago that Robert Bryce is telling today, only his stage is much larger than mine was. Could this all be coincidental? Not very likely. It’s mostly the same actors, the same plot, the same gullible public. The big differences are in the monies involved and the potential harm to a very large part of the national economy. Don’t take my word for it, or Robert Bryce’s. Go to the FishNetUSA site then go to Mr. Bryce’s article. Environmentalism is Dead. It has been replaced by Climatism, and Renewable Energy Fetishism. Spend a bit of time getting familiar with the information, then ask yourself “what are the odds.” And please remember that these aren’t picturesque, bucolic floating villages that the ENGOs and the wind industry are trying to shove down our supposedly energy-starved throats, but massive industrial constructions that are going to be putting the screws to the coastal and offshore waters that so many of us have been protecting for a big part of this last and this century. Scuttled Offshore Wind Plans Are Good News For Ratepayers, North Atlantic Right Whales

The hype about offshore wind energy keeps getting scuttled by reality. That’s the clear conclusion from last month’s announcement that Spanish utility company, Avangrid, was halting work on the proposed 1,200-megawatt Commonwealth Wind project because it was “no longer viable.” The company also announced it was delaying the start of another offshore project, the 800-megawatt Park City Wind project. Rural America Keeps Rejecting Big Wind

The backlash against Big Wind continues. Indeed, entire states are now restricting or rejecting wind projects.,,, The backlash is so fierce that Big Wind has begun suing small towns to force them to accept wind projects. Since last October, NextEra Energy, the world’s biggest producer of wind energy, has filed lawsuits in federal and state courts against five rural governments, including the town of Hinton, Oklahoma, population: 3,000. NextEra is funding its courthouse mugging of small-town America with your tax dollars.,,, The backlash is happening offshore, too. It took me a while to decide how to most accurately describe the situation that has been visited upon the New England fishing communities that are and since colonial times have been dependent on the groundfish fisheries.

While it’s a fact that’s hardly ever acknowledged, the assumption in fisheries management is that if the population of a stock of fish isn’t at some arbitrary level, it’s because of too much fishing. Hence the term “overfished.” Hence the mandated knee jerk reaction of the fisheries managers to not enough fish; cut back on fishing. What of other factors? They don’t count. It’s all about fishing, because fishing is all that the managers can control; it’s their Maslow’s Hammer. When it comes to the oceans it seems as if it’s about all that the industry connected mega-foundations that support the anti-fishing ENGOs with hundreds of millions of dollars a year in “donations” are interested in controlling.
