Coast Guard assisting fishing crew 80 miles off Cape May, NJ

450x338_q95The Coast Guard assisted the crew of a fishing boat taking on water Wednesday 80 miles east of Cape May, New Jersey. Watchstanders from the Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay command center received notification Wednesday at 5:35 a.m. by a good Samaritan that the 77-foot fishing vessel Golden Nugget, homeported in Cape May, was taking on water. Coast Guard, F/V Katherine assist three men aboard F/V Jeanoah taking on water near Kodiak

The Coast Guard and the crew of the fishing vessel Katherine assisted three men aboard a vessel taking on water in Shelikof Strait near Kodiak Wednesday. Coast Guard Cutter Roanoke Island is escorting the 67-foot fishing vessel Jeanoah to the port of Kodiak. Sector Anchorage  received a distress call from the Jeanoah’s master who reported the vessel had struck a rock and was taking on water approximately 40 miles west of Kodiak. Read more here. Coast Guard responding to F/V Sea King – taking on water with four people aboard off Ponte Vedra, Fla.

uscg-logoATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. – Coast Guard boat and helicopter crews are en route to rescue four people aboard a sinking shrimp boat about 2 miles east of Ponte Vedra, Fla., Tuesday morning. more@uscgnews  Update:  – Flooding is now under control on the 88-foot shrimp boat that was taking on water. Coast Guardsmen passed a dewatering pump to the vessel and are using it and the Sea King’s dewatering pump to keep up with the flooding. All four people remain aboard. The Sea King is expected to arrive in Mayport Tuesday afternoon. 11:20

 

Coast Guard crews searching for 55′ fishing vessel taking on water near Mount Desert Rock, Maine

uscg-logoBOSTON — Coast Guard rescue crews are searching for two people aboard a 55-foot fishing vessel approximately nine miles northeast of Mount Desert Rock, Maine, on Sunday. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Northern New England received notification at 6:41 p.m., via VHF channel 16, of a 55-foot fishing vessel taking on water with two people aboard. Coast Guard Station Southwest Harbor, Maine, launched a rescue crew on a 47-foot motor life boat. The Coast Guard Cutter Jefferson Island has been diverted to assist with the search. Air Station Cape Cod. Mass, launched an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and a C-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft crew. uscgnews  10:29
