Fishing leader fires challenge to Extinction Rebellion – learn about what we do

Protest spokesman Edward Funnell said: “No-one’s ever protested against industrial fishing before in Brixham. In fact, it might be the first time this long-overdue discussion about the damage from industrial fishing has ever been held in a UK fishing port. If the effects of beam trawling, bottom trawling and dredging were visible on land they would have been banned years ago.” But the boss of the Brixham Fish Market says the protesters have got the wrong end of the stick, and he invited them to a meeting to debate the issues.
