Remembrance service for 6,000 lost trawlermen

A service to commemorate Hull’s lost trawlermen will be held on Sunday 26 January. The tribute will take place at St John the Baptist church, known as the fisherman’s church, at 12:00 GMT. This years’ service also marks the 70th anniversary of the loss of the trawlers Lorella and Roderigo and their 40 crewmen. It is estimated that over 6,000 trawlermen have been lost from the port city of Hull. Lost Trawlermen’s Day is organised by St Andrew’s Dock Fishing Heritage Group (STAND) and a service is held on the last Sunday in January every year. 2 photos, more, >>CLICK TO READ<< 14:00
