NFI: Mercury warning based on fraudulent report

The National Fisheries Institute (NFI) has condemned a report by the Biodiversity Research Institute (BRI) which it says misled the public on the safety of commercial seafood. The BRI reported data which warned of mercury levels in seafood exceeding guidelines, but the NFI has said this data was “false, and has not been peer-reviewed or published in scientific journals”.
