Fisherman dies after being rescued from Plymouth Harbor

A missing fisherman was found unresponsive in the waters of Plymouth Harbor on Sunday afternoon but has since died. The man’s daughter, Kristen Svenson, told Boston 25 that her father, Micahel Furlong, passed away Monday in Plymouth. “We are asking for respect and space at this time. We have nothing prepared. A Fisherman is dead and 2 Fishermen were rescued after fall overboard from a menhaden fishing vessel

The Coast Guard is leading an investigation after a fisherman died after tumbling overboard while performing maintenance operations. The unidentified victim reportedly fell overboard Wednesday morning.  Ocean Harvesters, the contracted company for Omega Protein, says the victim was aboard a menhaden fishing vessel when the incident occurred. A total of three fishermen reportedly went overboard while conducting fishing operations, with two of the men being rescued. >click to read< 20:10

Fisherman dies after being hit by anchor, pulled overboard

863a4ac9dc_64635696_o2Nova Scotia RCMP are investigating after a 40-year-old fisherman from Shelburne County died Sunday night in a fishing accident near Georges Bank. Richard MacMillan Hiltz, 40, was a crewman on the fishing boat Nip n’ Tuck. He was from Port Clyde. Read more here 13:56
