Seafaring Community Mourns Death of Queen Elizabeth II
MARITIME charities and the shipping community are mourning the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who died on Thursday. Queen Elizabeth II was the patron of more than 500 charitable organisations including Mission to Seafarers, The Seafarers’ Charity and the Sailor’s Society. She is today being remembered for her service to the maritime community and to the welfare of seafarers. Queen’s Speech: Access and management of UK waters to return to British fishermen
A fisheries bill will be introduced to enable the UK to set its own quotas from the point of Brexit. The government’s programme also includes an agricultural bill to “provide stability to farmers as we leave the EU”. This will set out measures to ensure an alternative system is in place to support the sector as the UK leaves the Common Agricultural Policy.
