Santa makes early visit to Rockport
Santa and Mrs Claus didn’t let brisk winds and threatening rain stop them from making an early visit to Rockport on Saturday. The couple arrived aboard the lobster boat William G. Drohan at T Wharf on Rockport Harbor after a ride across Sandy Bay. Santa and Mrs. Claus were accompanied by a crowd down T Wharf and Broadway to the First Baptist Church, led by a Rockport Forest Fire Truck and the local Cub, Boy and Girl Scouts. There, he posed for photos with children, and checked in to see if they were naughty or nice. >click to read< and enjoy 13 photos! Merry Christmas, Santa! 20:17
Rockport, Maine: A day at the wharf
“Go ahead, but stay out of their way,” the man running the wharf tells me, as I head down July 20 to get some photos of the lobster being unloaded from incoming boats. “They’ll knock you over!” There is enough humor in his voice to let me know he is friendly,,, The wharf is not spacious for the amount of work is being done there. Lobster is being loaded from boats into crates that are lifted by a little crane to be loaded onto the trucks. While two sternmen on one boat are quickly unloading, another vessel pulls in nearby to fuel up. Lot of photos of hard working people. >click to read< 11:28

Rockport seafood business bouncing back after Harvey
According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, about 40 percent of small businesses never open their doors to customers again after a disaster. Alby Godinich, owner of Alby’s Seafood, is determined that won’t happen to his historic Rockport-Fulton business that has been open since 1983. “We have lost a lot of money, I can tell you this. But hey, we are going to come back, we will come back,” said Godinich. Godinich lost thousands and thousands of dollars of retail inventory and most of his equipment was damaged during the storm. “We just reopened here a while back. We were shut down for five or six weeks. It will probably be a month or two to make up for what we have lost and everything, you know,” said Godinich. click here to read the story 13:58
