Save the Dates for the 2025 U.S. – Canada Lobster Town Meeting!
The Lobster Institute’s 20th annual U.S. – Canada Lobster Town Meeting will be held January 29-30 at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel in Bar Harbor, ME.
Registration is open exclusively to commercial fishermen until October 20, after which registration will open to the public. Thanks to the Klaus Sonnenberg Travel, the Lobster Institute is able to offer a limited number of free registrations for commercial fishermen. The $75 registration fee includes conference materials and breakfast (Jan 29th and 30th) and lunch (Jan 29th). Atlantic Oceanside offers a room rate of $135/night, which includes parking and access to all hotel amenities. A complete program will be shared next month, but preliminary agenda items include:
- Industry Sector Updates
- Ecosystem change – What is going on in the ocean?
- Comparing assessment and management approaches in Canada and the US and how they relate to the US gauge increase.
- Market impacts of the gauge increase: short and long-term.
New this year is the addition of a welcome banquet the evening of Tuesday, January 28, and a banquet dinner on Wednesday, January 29, to allow more time for informal conversations and socializing with our cross-border attendees. We will again offer exhibition booths for sponsors wishing to share their materials in the primary venue.
