The New England groundfish debacle (Part III): who or what is at fault? Nils E. Stolpe/FishNet
NILS STOLPE: The New England groundfish debacle (Part IV): Is cutting back harvest really the answer?
While it’s a fact that’s hardly ever acknowledged, the assumption in fisheries management is that if the population of a stock of fish isn’t at some arbitrary level, it’s because of too much fishing. Hence the term “overfished.” Hence the mandated knee jerk reaction of the fisheries managers to not enough fish; cut back on fishing. What of other factors? They don’t count. It’s all about fishing, because fishing is all that the managers can control; it’s their Maslow’s Hammer. When it comes to the oceans it seems as if it’s about all that the industry connected mega-foundations that support the anti-fishing ENGOs with hundreds of millions of dollars a year in “donations” are interested in controlling. Disgusting — and so sad — especially since, as I understand it, the wind turbines can only provide such a small fraction of the energy needed. Once again our government at work “solving problems” creating “green jobs” while destroying the livelihood of fishermen and the families that depend upon them. %#@&!!!!!
I can confidently say this is not the United States of America I grew up in. Obama is living proof that the Pen is mightier then the Sword even if it is not used honorably.” Identity Theft ” is a petty Crime in comparison to “THE OBAMA OCEAN POLICY” and the GREEN MAFIA propelling it.
Wind Mills produce overly expensive Electricity inconsistently. The construction of the Wind Farms will destroy the Ocean bottoms Ecology. Furthermore “STRAY ELECTRICITY” will continue to destroy or displace Species in the Ocean. Also the Turbine Blades will kill Birds, which has already been documented.
It’s time for Congress to stop this fraud that stole OUR COMMON PROPERTY and reeks of RICO!!!
