Amid Hamptons Mansions, East End Fishermen Beat On Against The Tide
On Gosman’s dock in Montauk, seagulls hovering above, I was greeted by the smells of gasoline and fish as I walked on the worn, white-speckled planks. The water looked invitingly blue, and a group of fishermen were readying their vessel for a day’s work. One of the fishermen and I exchanged nods. A cigarette hung from his lips and he wore heavy work gloves, thick orange waders with suspenders and a greasy baseball cap. What good would the Wind Farms be during an event like this Oct 25-27 STORM, you’ll need more time for clean up and repairs??? Hope replacement parts aren’t in some CARGO CRATE, on some CARGO VESSEL off of some PORT!!!
OH, and we’d be competing for POWER with the TURBINES!!! An out of control Rotor would self destruct in WIND like this… They lock or feather the Rotors they’re not GENERATING. then, they require SHORE POWER to control the TURBINES!!! How many THOUSAND would you like to put up???
