NOAA outlines sweeping plan to boost the nation’s seafood industry

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has released a sweeping five-year plan to prioritize and promote the country’s commercial fishing industry. NOAA Fisheries announced its National Seafood Strategy on Wednesday. The agency said in a press release that the plan will “outline the direction” of the country’s seafood sector. It’s the first time NOAA has released an overall strategy aimed at addressing industry needs – the agency says it will complement other federal policies that are already in place. >click to read< 11:29

In the last 25 years I’ve probably read a dozen “proclamations” from NOAA/NMFS in a similar vein. You’d almost think that wasn’t the same agency whose employees were selling the entire commercial fishing industry out in their Prezident’s grossly ill-conceived attempt to turn our federal waters into the marine equivalent of North Jersey (think Rahway and the Bayway Refinery). I’m afraid that Windustrialization is going to get the Biden “team” in the history books for innumerable reasons, and none of them are going to have anything to do with climate change.

NOAA helping the commercial fishing industry? Yeah right. Like the help they have given the industry for as long as it can remember?
Such as the creation of catch shares? Which has basic destroyed the family/owner/operator system of small businesses that were once the hallmarks of the industry here in New England and replaced them with a system that has allocated the American people’s fisheries food resources to foreign multi national corporations to exploit at the demise of those who had been surviving for generations. Thank you Mr. Obama for your gift of Jane Lubchenco who is in the pocket of the environmental organizations that have been pushing the industrialization of our oceans and receiving untold amounts of money from the offshore wind industry to push this ill conceived project forward.
In my opinion, not that it matters, we are witnessing the continued destruction and demise of our nation by selling off our precious natural resources to those who seek to destroy what was once the world’s only hope for a future of peace and prosperity and replacing it with corruption in places of power at the highest levels.
As we used to say at the end of a long fishing trips, I’m short timing it now. I’m in the fourth quarter. But it sickens me to think what the future holds for my children and grandchildren.
I hate being a pessimist but how can anyone of sound mind and honesty look at what is taking place in this country and be optimistic? We have met the enemy….and they are us!
