An Obama administration memo has had a “chilling effect” on the government’s compliance with open records laws, the Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee argued Tuesday. Launching a two-day hearing on the Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) blasted an email that directs federal agencies to consult with President Obama’s general counsel following any document request that could involve the White House.     Not the Freedom Of Information (Censored So The White House Can Protect Its Agencies That Are In The Process Of Privatizing Everything For The Corporate Overlords) Act!

    That would be the…FOI(CSTWHCPIATAITPOPEFTCO)A. Way too long of an acronym—even for this Acronym Addicted Culture (AAC)!

      Every time this issue comes up about FOIAs, I think of Tina Jackson, who’s fishery activist life was derailed by the FOIA request for the Bigelow trawl data. Haven’t seen her since.
