Coast Guard medevacs Fisherman 10 miles west of Hernando Beach

The Coast Guard medevaced a man with severe abdominal pain from a fishing vessel 10 miles west of Hernando Beach, Florida Thursday. A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew responded to the call and safely transported the 49-year-old man to Tampa General Hospital in stable condition. Coast Guard medevacs Fisherman 5 miles east of Fernandina Beach

Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville command center watchstanders received a medevac request via VHF Channel 16 at 4:50 p.m. from the AMG stating a crew member had sustained a head injury. The Coast Guard medevaced a man from the AMG, a 77-foot fishing vessel, approximately 5 miles east of Fernandina Beach, Thursday. The Coast Guard Cutter Sea Dog crew embarked the man and safely transported him to Dee Dee Bartels Public Boat Ramp where EMS was waiting and transferred him to the Nassau County Trauma Air Unit. >click to read< 19:46

Coast Guard medevacs man 65 miles off Atlantic City, NJ

The Coast Guard medevaced a 51-year-old man approximately 65 miles off Atlantic City, New Jersey, Sunday. A crew member aboard the fishing vessel Settler notified watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay of a 51-year-old man aboard having difficulty breathing. Sector Delaware Bay watchstanders launched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, New Jersey to respond. Coast Guard Medevacs fisherman knocked unconscious on 80-foot fishing vessel

A Coast Guard boatcrew medically evacuated a 48-year-old man who was knocked unconscious due to a fall on Sunday morning three miles south of Bellport Bay, New York. At approximately 8:30 a.m., watchstanders at Sector Long Island Sound received a distress call on channel-16 from the captain of an 80-foot fishing vessel (F/V New Sea Rover) stating a crewman aboard was found face-down and unconscious. A conference call was conducted with the on-call surgeon who recommended a medevac within a three hour window. The command center launched a rescue crew from Station Fire Island aboard a 47-foot Motor Life Boat at 9:15 a.m. West Islip EMS also came aboard to assist with the medevac.  The boatcrew arrived on scene at 10:30 a.m. where the patient was transferred to the life boat. The crew arrived back at the station at approximately 12:15 p.m., where he was transferred to an ambulance and then on to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, New York. Coast Guard medevacs fisherman 50 miles E of Chincoteague, VA

The Coast Guard medevaced an injured man 50 miles east of Chincoteague, Virginia, Sunday. Watchstanders at 5th District command center in Portsmouth received an Electronic Position Indicating Radio Beacon, (EPIRB) alert from the 75-foot trawler Capt Nathan with three people aboard. Watchstanders diverted the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Escanaba and an MH-65D Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City to the scene. The crew of the Escanaba established communications with the crew and discovered the captain was suffering symptoms of a stroke. The helicopter crew arrived on scene and hoisted the man and transferred him to Cape May Airport, Cape May, New Jersey, where another helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City transferred the patient to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. more images here 15:57

Coast Guard Medevacs Fisherman Off Hatteras Inlet, NC

capt-alex-medevacThe Coast Guard medevaced a man Saturday from a fishing vessel off Hatteras Inlet. Watchstanders in the Coast Guard Sector North Carolina command center in Wilmington received a call from the 73-foot commercial fishing vessel Capt Alex at about 8:47 p.m., reporting the vessel’s captain was experiencing severe chest pains approximately six miles east of Hatteras Inlet. An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew launched from Air Station Elizabeth City at about 9:44 p.m.  The aircrew arrived on scene at approximately 10:13 p.m. and lowered a rescue swimmer to the boat. The patient was hoisted from the boat to the helicopter in a rescue basket at about 11 p.m., and flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, arriving at about 12:29 a.m. Link Video here 11:06

Coast Guard medevacs Fisherman off the coast of Marquesas Keys, Florida

A fisherman was medically evacuated by a Coast Guard search-and-rescue crew north of Marquesas Keys, Florida, Thursday. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Key West, Fla., received notification from the crew aboard the Capt GC II of a 49-year-old male experiencing shortness of breath 13 nautical miles north of Marquesas Keys. After consulting with the duty flight surgeon, a Coast Guard Air Station Miami MH-65 helicopter crew launched to transport him to urgent medical care. The helicopter crew arrived on scene, hoisted the man and transported him to Key West International Airport where emergency medical services awaited. Watch the video here 13:43

Coast Guard medevacs fisherman from F/V Jessica Heather off Atlantic City, NJ

The captain of the fishing vessel Jessica Heather alerted Coast Guard watchstanders of an ailing crewmember who was in need of immediate medical attention. Read more here  14:21
