Lobster boat destroyed by fire in eastern P.E.I. – Cause of fire has not been determined
A lobster boat was destroyed by fire early Saturday morning at Sturgeon wharf in eastern P.E.I. RCMP say the boat was tied up when the fire began, and crew noticed it when they arrived at the wharf. Police were called at about 4 a.m. Nobody was injured, but police said some of the crew were treated by paramedics at the scene. Investigators believe the fire started in the boat’s cabin. >click<11:06
2 years to rebuild lobster plant, Paturel tells employees
It will take at least two years to rebuild the Paturel lobster plant on Deer Island, N.B., that burned to the ground last week. That’s what employees were told Saturday morning during a meeting organized by Paturel management, said Paul Richardson, who worked at the plant and was at the meeting. La Pointe Seafoods Lobster pound in Belliveau’s Cove destroyed by fire
La Pointe Seafoods in Belliveau’s Cove caught fire at 8:30 p.m Sunday. Pierre Boissonnault, the company’s president, said there was over 4,500 kilograms of lobster in the building at the time of the fire — all of it destroyed. He said the company does have insurance but the fire is still a devastating blow to the community, especially with the lucrative lobster season beginning just a week and a half ago on Nov. 30.

Cape Breton Premium Seafoods plant destroyed by fire
Edgar Samson, president of Premium Seafoods Group, said he was saddened by the loss of the groundfish facility and retail market. He said the facility employed 60 to 70 people. The company has two other facilities that were not damaged. more@cbcnews 06:00
