South Korea: Five missing crew members of capsized fishing boat found dead
Five missing crew members of a 24-ton fishing boat that capsized off the southwestern coast were found dead inside the vessel, Monday, Coast Guard officials said. Seawater started to flood the ship’s engine room, causing the vessel, the Cheongbo, to overturn at 11:19 p.m. Saturday in waters 16.6 kilometers west of the uninhabited island of Daebichi that lies some 20 km from the southwestern county of Sinan. Nine of the 12 people, including three foreign nationals, on board the ship were missing following the accident, while the other three were rescued by another boat at the scene. >click to read< 13:03
9 missing after fishing boat capsizes in South Korea
South Korean coast guard vessels and aircraft on Sunday were searching for nine fishermen who disappeared after their boat capsized off the country’s southwestern coast. The coast guard from the southwestern port city of Mokpo said that three crew members were rescued by a nearby commercial vessel following the accident late Saturday near Daebichi Island in the sea county of Sinan. Puppy found alive on beach after fishing boat capsizes off Sitkalidak Island
The fishing vessel F/V Laura, a 93-foot trawler based out of Kodiak, capsized Monday morning after striking rocks near Sitkalidak Island. The four-person crew safely boarded a life raft. But their puppy, Grace, an eight-month-old, 80-pound lab mix, jumped into the freezing water and was presumed lost. The next day, another Coast Guard helicopter crew searched the area for evidence of a fuel spill from the F/V Laura, but they still held a shred of hope that Grace might still be alive. When Angie Chase got the phone call that a fishing boat had flipped near the Tillamook coast, she “just knew.” Todd Chase was on the fishing boat that capsized near the mouth of Tillamook Bay on Saturday. He was one of the two fishermen who died. They raised their four boys — Zach, Cord, Bowen and Brayden — in Tillamook and Astoria. Todd Chase was among the four local fishermen on the Coastal Reign that capsized 2/20 in Garibaldi, OR. His body was recovered on the jetty rocks. F/V Coastal Reign: At least one has been declared dead after fishing boat capsized along Oregon Coast
At least one of four crew members pulled from a capsized fishing boat on Saturday has died, according to the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG). A 38-foot fishing boat capsized at about 4:40 p.m. at the Tillamook Bay bar entrance, just a few miles south of Rockaway Beach. A representative for the Coast Guard said within about half an hour, rescue crews were able to retrieve all four people who were on board. Two of the four people were unresponsive,,, The USCG confirmed Sunday one had been declared dead soon after the rescue. Fishing boat capsizes near Tillamook coast – 2 of the 4 rescued were unresponsive
A 38-foot fishing boat capsized near the mouth of the Tillamook bay at around 4:40 p.m. Saturday,,, All four people aboard the vessel were rescued but two were unresponsive. They were all transported to local hospitals. The boat is still overturned on the south jetty at the Tillamook bar entrance. 2 dead after fishing boat capsizes in Nova Scotia
Two people are dead after a boat capsized off the coast of Port Medway in the Region of Queens Municipality, N.S. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax says rescuers responded to a call Saturday morning reporting an overturned crabbing vessel. A woman, 55, was found unresponsive on the beach and was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital. Oil spilled into the Fraser River after a 26-metre fishing boat capsized at a Richmond marina, according to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
