Thirteen Breton fishermen stand trial for smuggling illegal migrants to British beaches

Thirteen Breton fishermen stood trial on Monday on charges of ferrying illegal migrants from the coast of Brittany to British shores for thousands of pounds per crossing. The fishermen are accused of transporting a total of 200 migrants via a gang of Albanian people smugglers who paid them €1000 (£720) per passenger and pocketed up to ten times that amount for every illegal passenger.
