Leaving as soon as possible – Oil supply ship to resume search for missing fishing boat off St. Lawrence

MHA Carol Anne Haley says the province has secured a vessel to continue the search for the Sarah Anne, a fishing vessel that went missing off the coast of St. Lawrence last week. Haley, the member for Burin-Grand Bank, said she and the premier have worked to engage the Paul A. Sacuta, a supply vessel for the offshore oil industry, to help continue the search for Issac Kettle. Kettle is the lone crew member of the Sarah Anne who has not been found. For shrimper severely burned in boat explosion, ‘angels’ provide a chance for life

Ryan Barcot has a guardian angel or two, maybe more. Badly burned in a shrimp boat explosion near Grand Isle, he clung to a life raft with his mangled hands until a nearby offshore supply boat plucked him and three other crew members from the Gulf of Mexico. “He’s had so many guardian angels looking out for him, it’s unbelievable,” said Joyce Barcot, who has not left her son’s side at Baton Rouge General Hospital since she arrived from Houston three weeks ago. Details are sketchy, Collision Between a shrimper, and offshore supply vessel 18 miles south of Pascagoula Sunday evening

uscg-logoWatchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a hailing mayday at 10:40 p.m. from a 74-foot shrimping vessel 18 miles south of Pascagoula, Mississippi. The vessel reported colliding with a 130-foot offshore supply vessel, the Gloria May. All three crew on board the shrimper successfully entered into their life raft and were subsequently picked up by the Gloria May. Read more here 11:32
