Bundoran fisherman sees double as rare Orange lobster pays second visit

You can do the numbers on finding an orange lobster that has not already been served on a platter, so to have discovered two last year, after a lifetime of fishing off Donegal shores, was a bit of a coup for Bundoran based fisherman, Sean Carty, when out checking his pots this week. While checking his pots as per usual earlier this week, what appeared to be another orange lobster emerged from the ocean, but there was more to this ’tail’ than met the eye. Maine Fisherman Catches Rare Orange Lobster, Throws It Back

A TikTok video shows the moment a fisherman catches a “unique” rare type of lobster before releasing it back into the ocean. The video, which has been viewed more than 850,000 times since being posted a couple of days ago, was made by Jacob Knowles, a Maine fisherman who regularly posts videos documenting his time at sea and the various creatures caught. “We caught our first unique lobster,” Knowles says, holding a small orange lobster up to the camera. “She’s pretty cool, she’s all orange… she looks like she’s got gloves on.” Video, >click to read< 08:24

Rare orange lobster unexpectedly found in Iowa!

R-C--rare-orange-lobster-photo2-jpgHy-Vee workers made an unusual discovery in their perishable distribution center — a rare orange lobster. The female lobster weighed in at about 2.7 pounds. She was discovered in a recent shipment of seafood brought to the Hy-Vee center. Hy-Vee spokeswoman Tara Deering-Hansen said they are exploring options for a permanent home for the lobster nicknamed R.C.  They are looking for a place where she will be well cared for and possibly be on display for the public to see.
