Darren Byler of Kodiak Alaska has been fighting the local Coast Guard Station for almost a decade now for what Byler calls a “Politically Motivated Fraud Filled Phony Poopy Conviction that the United States Government has now spent approximately 1.3 million Dollars to date investigating, prosecuting and defending against Byler’s civil claims. Byler filed a 10 million dollar civil lawsuit against the United States Coast Guard approximately two years ago and is still fighting the government for the opportunity to have a civil trial. As I have publicly predicted many months ago, Kodiak City Manager Mike Tvenge will be “Stepping Down” from his position with the city. Why would the Mayor and the City Council allow Tvenge to collect $3,640,000.00 over the next 20 years after leaving the City? Especially when Tvenge is squarely responsible for engulfing the City of Kodiak in a Multi-Million Dollar Lawsuit that they cannot and will not prevail in. Is this obscene waste of Taxpayer Money a payoff from Branson and Whiddon for Tvenge to keep his mouth shut regarding the illegal sinking of the Wild Alaskan? In 2015, Mayor Pat Branson hired Mike Tvenge to be the City of Kodiak City Manager. Branson was searching for a man that was not the sharpest tool in the shed; that was easy for her to manipulate as many of her political agendas she had her paw prints on were issues that she had no authority to execute. It took me a while to decide how to most accurately describe the situation that has been visited upon the New England fishing communities that are and since colonial times have been dependent on the groundfish fisheries.

While it’s a fact that’s hardly ever acknowledged, the assumption in fisheries management is that if the population of a stock of fish isn’t at some arbitrary level, it’s because of too much fishing. Hence the term “overfished.” Hence the mandated knee jerk reaction of the fisheries managers to not enough fish; cut back on fishing. What of other factors? They don’t count. It’s all about fishing, because fishing is all that the managers can control; it’s their Maslow’s Hammer. When it comes to the oceans it seems as if it’s about all that the industry connected mega-foundations that support the anti-fishing ENGOs with hundreds of millions of dollars a year in “donations” are interested in controlling.
