Dungeness Crab season is going strong on Oregon Coast
The commercial Dungeness crab season has been underway for about four months. About 11 million pounds of crab have been off-loaded so far. The Dungeness Crab Commission says season yields go up and down each year. Major anchovy die-off stinks up Seaside, Ore.
Tourists visiting Seaside were getting quite a sight – and smell – this week. Millions of anchovies have died trying to swim up the Necanicum River at Seaside. They come in with the incoming tide, get stranded and die. Read more here 06:34
Coast Guard units coordinate tow of disabled F/V Faith of Tonk near Yaquina Bay, Ore
SEATTLE — The U.S. Coast Guard towed a fishing vessel to safety after the two people aboard reported that the vessel had become disabled more than 15 miles northwest of Yaquina Bay, Oregon, Monday. Coast Guard rescues 4 from F/V Jo Marie near Brookings, Ore.
SEATTLE — A Coast Guard boatcrew from Station Chetco River, in Brookings, Ore., rescued four people after a 62-foot fishing vessel allided (collided?) with the Chetco River South Jetty, Monday evening.
