The Supreme Court on Wednesday appeared sympathetic to a Florida fisherman who says the government went overboard in prosecuting him for throwing undersized grouper off his boat. “What kind of a mad prosecutor would try to send this guy up for 20 years,” Scalia asked Justice Department attorney Roman Martinez. “You make him sound like a mob boss or something,” Chief Justice John Roberts said as laughter erupted in the court. Former Minerals Management Service director, Elizabeth Birnbaum,: US ‘on a course to repeat’ Gulf oil spill

Salazar departure leaves ‘green’ posts vacant

With  Interior Secretary Ken Salazar’s announcement Wednesday that he intends to resign, the Obama administration finds itself in exactly the same place it was four years ago: looking to fill the three most important environmental posts in the federal government.
